Amorphic Labs is a small studio in Chennai, India. We build conversational AI — things people talk to — and the workflows that make those conversations actually do something.

Things you can talk to

Most of what we build is a conversation: chat interfaces, AI assistants, voice experiences, and characters worth talking to.

The model is the easy part now. The hard part is everything around it — how it sounds, when it shuts up, what it does when it’s wrong, and how it recovers without making the person on the other side feel stupid. So that’s where we spend our time: writing the personality, mapping the dead ends, and testing the awkward middle of a conversation instead of the happy path everyone demos.

And the workflows behind them

Behind every good conversation there’s plumbing. We design AI workflows and agents that read the messy document, call the right tool, remember the right thing, and hand back something useful.

Usually the goal is for nobody to notice them at all. A workflow that works is invisible — you just get the answer, the file, the summary, the booking, and you get on with your day. We rather like building the invisible bit.

There’s a designer running this place

And it shows. We prototype early, argue about wording for longer than is reasonable, and care more about how something feels on the third use than how it looks on the first. In practice that means fewer features and more finish.

Also, we make apps

Small ones, mostly. Chat Ready turns any document or link into clean Markdown so language models can actually read it. Screen Renamer gives your macOS screenshots names you can actually search for, and it’s open source for anyone to use. Cairn lives in your WhatsApp so you can stop texting yourself — send it anything, ask for it back anytime. Emotions Evolved is on the way. Some are AI, some just needed to exist — all of them get the same fuss over the details.
